What are "Starter" Plants or "Plugs"?
A starter plant or plug or sometimes called a baby bedding are small seedling plants that have been pre-grown in an individual cell to save you time and trouble. They can be transplanted later into a large container or directly into the ground.
Examples of starter plants are tomatoes, eggplant and peppers. If you don't have a long growing season, it's often best to purchase starter plants for your garden.
If you have an a place to start seedlings indoors, or in a greenhouse, you can grow you own starter plants to transfer to you garden later.
