Mashed Creamy Navy Beans

Ingredients

  • 2 cups cooked navy beans

  • About 1/4 cup of broth from cooked beans or water

  • 4 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil or melted butter

  • 4 tablespoons cream or condensed milk

  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)

  • 1 clove of garlic (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a small pot, add the reserved broth or water. Add the cooked navy beans and bring to a simmer. Allow to simmer for 2-3 minutes.

  2. Remove from the stove and drain the beans well.

  3. In a food processor, blender, or a bowl (using a hand blender), combine the beans and the remaining ingredients. Blend until creamy.

  4. Adjust the thickness by adding more cream or butter as desired.

  5. Serve warm
