Salmon Patty Recipe

Ingredients

  • 14.75 ounce can pink salmon or fresh cooked salmon

  • 1/2 onion, chopped

  • 2 eggs

  • 3/4 cup breadcrumbs

  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

  • 1/2 teaspoon ground pepper

  • Vegetable oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Add vegetable oil to a skillet and preheat over medium to medium-high heat. Ensure the oil covers about half of the salmon patty.

  2. Drain the juice from the can of salmon, check for bones and remove if necessary.

  3. In a mixing bowl, combine the chopped onions, eggs, lemon juice, breadcrumbs, salt, and pepper and salmon.

  4. Mix the ingredients thoroughly and shape the mixture into patties.

  5. Fry the patties in the preheated vegetable oil for approximately five minutes on each side, or until each side is browned.

  6. After cooking, put the patties on a paper towel to absorb extra grease.

When serving salmon patties, a variety of condiments can elevate the dish and complement the natural flavors of the fish. Here are some popular options:

    Tartar Sauce
A classic mix of mayonnaise, pickles, capers, and lemon juice, tartar sauce contrasts well with salmon patties.

    Dill Sauce
A light Greek yogurt, dill, lemon, and garlic sauce adds freshness and is a healthier option.

    Remoulade
This zesty mayonnaise-based sauce with mustard, pickles, and spices offers bold flavor that suits salmon.

    Sriracha Aioli
Mixing sriracha with mayonnaise creates a spicy aioli that enhances patties without overpowering them.

    Lemon-Caper Sauce
A blend of lemon juice, olive oil, and capers creates a robust sauce that complements the fish.

    Mustard Sauce
A tangy mustard sauce, made with Dijon or whole grain mustard, contrasts well with salmon flavors.

    Avocado Cream
Puree ripe avocado with lime juice and garlic for a creamy, nutritious topping.

    Horseradish Cream
Combining sour cream, horseradish, and lemon juice creates a flavorful condiment with a kick.

    Salsa
Fresh salsa made with tomatoes, cilantro, onions, or fruit adds vibrancy to the dish.

    Pickled Vegetables
Pickled cucumbers, radishes, or other veggies provide a crunchy, tangy side that balances the rich salmon.

These condiments can be served on the side for personalized choices.
