Garlic Honey Cold & Flu Syrup

When we were children, this was the natural remedy my Mother would concoct for us, especially during the cold and flu season. I absolutely loved it. The rich, golden syrupy liquid, with chunks of pungent garlic and sometimes with added onions seemed to hold the essence of warmth and care. I would often sneak a teaspoon. It was like candy to me. Its sweeet and spicy treat healed both body and spirit. I’ve passed this recipe on to children and grand children on and as well as with family and friends. For me, it is a sweet reminder of her nurturing and enduring love. Enjoy!
